This intricate-looking design (actually quite easy to install!) simulates an exotic Eastern rug.

The "carpet" was created using Skimstone, a "hybridized Portland cement" product that is integrally colored and is applied over concrete by troweling the material in micro-thin layers.

This detail shows the precise pattern and the way in which the colors have been layered to achieve the appearance of age and depth.

The degree of opacity of the material can be easily controlled by adjusting the relative measurements of the tint, liquid polymer and cement powder.
