Barcelona Tile Rug

A Mediterranean feel was achieved through design and color selection with the Barcelona Concrete Carpet design.   

We used Superfine Sgraffino to emboss the pattern over contrasting tile colors.

The embossed yellow areas of the design were given additional texture by troweling a thin layer of overlayment and immediately  pouncing into the overlay with folded damp terry towel.

The texture was lightly sanded down before staining with the Modello still in place. With the pattern removed another very diluted layer of stain was applied overall as a "toning layer".
